FAQ

Common
questions.

What is the difference between NEC 700, 701, and 702? +

NEC 700 covers emergency systems required by code for life-safety (egress, fire alarms). NEC 701 covers legally required standby systems (heating, refrigeration, communications). NEC 702 covers optional standby systems chosen by the building owner. The article that applies determines wiring class, transfer time requirements, and testing.

Do you handle the generator pad and fuel system? +

Yes. We coordinate the concrete pad, fuel storage (diesel or natural gas), exhaust, and controls as part of the install package.

Can you integrate with our existing fire alarm and life-safety systems? +

Yes. We coordinate signal and power integration with your fire alarm contractor and elevator company so the entire emergency system works as one.

Do you provide witness testing? +

Yes. We arrange acceptance testing with your AHJ, insurance carrier, or third-party testing agency and document the results.

How often do these systems need to be tested? +

NEC 700 systems require monthly transfer testing and annual load bank testing. We provide test programs that meet or exceed these requirements.
